Many motorbikes and scooters use transponder keys just like cars, so a lost key means programming a new one to the bike rather than simply cutting a blade. We come to the bike so it doesn't need recovering.

Or another document naming you as the registered keeper, such as a finance or lease agreement for the car.
Photo ID
Driving licence or passport, with a name and address that match the ownership document.
Registration and VIN
The reg is enough to start. The 17-digit VIN (bottom of the windscreen, or on the V5C) lets us confirm exactly which key the car takes.

A fixed price, first.
The price depends on the car and the key it takes, so it's worked out for yours: send the reg, or the make, model and year, and you'll get a fixed quote before anything is booked.
If you're claiming on insurance or key cover, ask for an itemised invoice with the vehicle details on it.

01Does my bike need its key programming, or just cutting?
Many modern motorbikes and scooters have a transponder chip in the key, just like a car, so a new key has to be programmed to the bike as well as cut. Tell us the make, model and year and we'll say which yours needs.
02I've lost the only key. Does the bike need recovering?
No. The work is done where the bike is, so there's no need to trailer it anywhere. Have the V5C and your photo ID ready.
