Who we are

Rapid Vehicle Security is the trading name of Peter Wilcox, a sole trader providing mobile auto locksmith and vehicle security services across the West Midlands. He is responsible for the personal data described here. [To confirm: business address.] For anything about your personal data, email contact@rapidvehiclesecurity.co.uk.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry we collect your name, phone number, email address, preferred contact method, your vehicle's make, model and year, the service you're interested in, the area the vehicle is in, and anything you tell us in the message box.

When you ask for a key quote we collect your vehicle's registration, the kind of key it takes, what you need, your name and phone number, the first half of your postcode, and anything else you add.

When you use the chat on this site we process what you type. If you ask us to call you back, we also collect your name, phone number and, if you give them, your vehicle details and a good time to call. Please don't type anything into the chat that you wouldn't want us to see, such as payment details.

If you call or message us on WhatsApp, we keep the details you give us there.

The chat assistant

The chat on this site is an automated AI assistant, not a person. It answers from the information published on this website. Your messages are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate each reply. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, it doesn't use your messages to train its models, and keeps them only for a limited period for safety and misuse monitoring. Anthropic may process them outside the UK, under safeguards that UK data protection law recognises.

We don't keep a copy of chat conversations on our website. If you ask for a callback, the conversation is emailed to us with your details so we can pick up where it left off, and we then treat it like any other enquiry.

Why we use it

We use your details to check whether we can help with your vehicle, to contact you about your enquiry, to quote, and to arrange and carry out the work you agree to. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract once you go ahead.

After a job we may contact you about renewals or servicing for the system we fitted, such as tracker subscriptions, and ask for a review. You can tell us to stop at any time. [To confirm: wording once the CRM's automated follow-ups are set up.]

Who we share it with

We don't sell your details. We use trusted providers to run the business, and they only process your details on our instructions:

  • Vercel, which hosts this website
  • Resend, which delivers enquiry and callback emails to us
  • Anthropic, which runs the chat assistant
  • our customer and job records system

Where a tracker or monitoring service needs your details to activate it, we pass them to that manufacturer or monitoring centre with your agreement.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data for the minimum time required. Enquiries that don't go ahead are deleted once we no longer need them, and customer and job records are kept only for as long as the law requires for tax, warranty and insurance purposes.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies, analytics and videos

No tracking or advertising cookies. This site doesn't set any.

Visitor statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you: it only records totals, such as how many people viewed a page and which country they were in.

Videos. Some pages show manufacturers' videos from YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the video plays from YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube's own privacy policy applies to it.

Your browser's storage. The chat remembers, for the rest of your visit, that you've already seen its greeting, so it doesn't pop up on every page. This stays in your browser and is cleared when you close it.
